The eight palettes, in order: blues on light grey; rust to plum on black; slate blues on black; that same slate family on off-white; ochre to cobalt on sand; sand to teal on charcoal; lime to orange on navy; violet to mauve on off-white. Two of them are deliberately the same colours on opposite grounds, so the whole feel of a desk changes without the hue changing at all.
Every bar is flat colour with a hard edge — no gradient inside a bar, no texture laid over it. That has two consequences worth knowing. The files cannot band on any panel, however smooth the step between neighbouring bars looks. And they stay exactly this crisp at every size, from a phone to a wall-sized display, because there is no fine detail to lose.
The composition leaves the ground clear. The bars hold a band across the middle and the space above and below is a single flat colour, which is where a menu bar, a dock, a row of icons and a lock-screen clock all land without fighting anything behind them.
Are the portrait files rotations?
No. All eight are composed separately at 3665 × 7648 — the bars are re-proportioned for a tall frame rather than the widescreen image being turned on its side.
Why is the download so small?
Flat colour is the one thing PNG compresses almost perfectly, so the whole pack zips to 260 KB. The JPGs inside are about five times larger than the PNGs, which is the reverse of the usual situation — for artwork like this, use the PNGs.
Can I use one behind client work?
Yes. The licence covers commercial and client projects, so these sit behind a presentation or a case study as easily as on a desktop.
