Reef Bloom — 8K Desktop and Phone Wallpaper

A wall of teal and navy strokes rakes up from the lower left, and where they crest they open into a pale spiral of lilac and white. Off the right edge, orange and crimson break in hard enough to scatter across the centre. The weave of the surface shows through the thinner passages, and gold sits in the troughs between strokes.

The composition works as a collision. Two thirds of the frame is cold — long directional strokes of teal over navy, dragged rather than dabbed, so the ridges all run the same way and the eye travels with them. The last third is hot: an orange-to-crimson burst thrown in from the right edge with enough force to leave splatter across the pale centre.
The spiral is where the two meet. Lilac and white wound tight, sitting high and slightly right of centre, which keeps the busiest passage out of the middle of the screen.
Five colours: teal, navy, lilac, orange and crimson, with gold flecked through the cold side, where it reads as light on water rather than as decoration.
Where it goes quiet: the lower left, a broad run of near-uniform teal stroke. That is the corner most desktops fill with icons, and of the four acrylics this is the one that keeps it clear.
Why two orientations?
One artwork, supplied both ways. The portrait file is the same painting turned through ninety degrees, so a phone or tablet gets a full 9:16 frame instead of a centre crop out of a widescreen image.
Will the texture hold up on a phone?
Yes. The strokes are wide and the weave is fine, so at phone size the frame reads as texture rather than noise. The gold flecks are the first detail to soften and they still register.
PNG or JPG?
PNG if you want the lossless file, JPG at quality 92 if you would rather not move the larger one around. At screen sizes they are indistinguishable.
