SuperClip is a small menu bar app that remembers everything copied on a Mac: text, images, links and files. One click, or Command-Shift-V, opens the history; one more click copies an item back, ready to paste anywhere. It suits anyone who copies more than one thing at a time and is tired of losing the last one.

What you get

  • SuperClip.app, a universal build for Apple silicon and Intel Macs
  • README.txt with install steps, and LICENSE.txt
  • One 2.1 MB zip

Works with

  • macOS 13 Ventura or later
  • Light and dark mode

One licence, personal and client work, forever. No resale.

First launch: SuperClip is signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens with a normal double-click.

SuperClip keeps a history of everything copied on a Mac behind a clipboard icon in the menu bar. Text, images, links and files are all kept, searchable and one click from being copied again.

Every copy, kept

Each item shows a preview, when it was copied and the app it came from. Copying the same thing twice simply moves it back to the top.

Find it in a keystroke

The search field is ready as soon as the panel opens, and filters for Text, Images, Links and Files narrow the list further. Arrow keys and Return copy without touching the mouse, and Command-1 to Command-9 copy the first nine items.

Images and links too

Screenshots and copied images are kept with a thumbnail and their size, and links get their own filter.

Pin what matters

Pinned items stay at the top and are never cleared, which suits an address, a reply or a snippet used every day.

Always one shortcut away

Command-Shift-V opens the history from any app. A right-click on the icon pauses recording for a while.

How it works

  • Left-click the clipboard icon, or press Command-Shift-V from any app, to open the history. Clicking an item copies it back, ready for Command-V.
  • The keyboard works throughout: type to search, the arrow keys move the selection, Return copies it, Command-1 to Command-9 copy the first nine, and Escape closes the panel.
  • Hovering an item shows Pin and Delete. Pinned items stay at the top and are never cleared.
  • Right-click the icon, or Control-click it, to pause recording; the icon dims while it is paused.
  • The options menu holds the history size, Clear History, Pause Recording and Open at Login.

Opening it the first time

SuperClip is signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens with a normal double-click.

Does it see my passwords?

No. Anything a password manager marks as concealed or temporary is skipped, and recording can be paused at any time.

Where is the history stored?

Only on the Mac, in the Application Support folder. Nothing is synced or sent anywhere, and there is no account.

Does it paste for me?

Clicking an item puts it back on the clipboard, ready for Command-V in any app. SuperClip needs no Accessibility permission.

Which Macs does it run on?

Any Mac with Apple silicon or Intel running macOS 13 Ventura or later.
