Claude for PowerPoint — Deck Toolkit
The Claude for PowerPoint add-in builds slides using the template already open in front of it. That single fact decides whether the output is usable, and it is the thing nobody mentions. This toolkit gives you the templates worth opening first, the prompts that get real work out of them, and finished decks to compare your own against.
What you get
- Light and Dark — 16 general-purpose pages each: executive summary, SWOT, a six-block strategy grid, four-step process, roadmap timeline, segment blocks, metric cards, two charts, a table and a statement page
- Internal workshop — 13 pages for running a session: agenda, objectives, the challenge as a 2×2, an activity, a needs assessment, a roadmap, a three-month plan and a performance chart
- Company culture — 12 pages on values, mission and vision, history, leadership, employee voice, workplace figures, programmes, responsibility and results
- Prompt library, 14 pages, 56 prompts across 11 sections — starting a deck, building from a document, editing, charts, narrative, cutting, template compliance, speaker notes, and working across Excel and Word
- The prompt library as Markdown as well as PDF
- Four finished sample decks — a QBR, a launch plan, a market analysis and a status update — each carrying the prompt that produced it in the speaker notes
Works with
- PowerPoint for the web, Windows with a Microsoft 365 subscription, and Mac from version 16.46
- Not the 2016 or 2019 perpetual licences, iPad or Android
- The add-in requires a Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise plan; the templates and decks work in any PowerPoint
- Checked against Anthropic's published documentation in September 2026
One licence, personal and client work, forever. No resale.
Ask the add-in for a deck from a blank default file and you get default slides. Open a template first and it reads the slide master, the layouts, the fonts and the colour scheme, and stays inside them. Everything in this toolkit is built around that order of operations.
The templates are not empty frames. Forty-one pages across four decks are already designed and populated with placeholder argument, all sitting on the same six slide masters. The general-purpose pair covers the shapes most business decks need. The workshop deck is a facilitator's running order, from agenda through to the three-month plan and the sentence every attendee writes before they leave. The culture deck covers values, mission and vision, history, leadership, employee voice and results, and uses image frames rather than stock photography, so nothing has to be licensed before you can use it.
The prompt library is organised by what you are trying to do rather than by feature. The pattern that recurs through it is splitting decide what to say from make the artefact: ask for the outline first, argue with a list of one-line slide titles for two minutes, and only then let it build. Arguing with a finished deck takes an hour, and by then you are editing rather than deciding.
Do I need the add-in to use this?
No. The templates and sample decks are ordinary .pptx files. The prompt library is the part that assumes the add-in.
Are the diagrams editable?
Yes — the SWOT quadrants, process chevrons, timelines, value cards, quote cards and figure panels are all built from PowerPoint shapes and text boxes. So are both charts. Nothing is a flattened image and nothing is locked.
Can I use my own brand colours?
Change them in the slide master and every page follows. The layouts are the part worth keeping.
Do I have to keep all 41 pages?
No, and you should not. Delete what you do not need before you start prompting — whatever you leave behind is the pattern the add-in copies.
