AI Wallet Privacy Policy

AI Wallet keeps your money on your own devices. This page says exactly what that means.

Last updated 16 September 2026

The short version

  • We do not collect, store, share or sell your personal data.
  • There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
  • Your transactions, receipts and settings stay on your devices and in your own iCloud account. We cannot see them.
  • Understanding what you type or say happens on your iPhone using Apple Intelligence.

This policy applies to AI Wallet for iPhone and Apple Watch, including its widgets, Siri and Shortcuts actions, and Control Center controls. The app is made by 1dot1 (“we”, “us”).

Information stored on your devices and in your iCloud

When you use AI Wallet, the app stores the following on your device:

  • Transactions (amounts, currencies, dates, titles, merchants, notes, tags and categories)
  • Wallets, categories, budgets and recurring items
  • Receipt photos you scan or choose, and the text recognised from them
  • The original text or voice transcript used to create an entry
  • Your settings, such as base currency, how you earn, tax set-aside percentage and app lock preference
  • Cached currency exchange rates

If iCloud is turned on for your Apple Account, this information is synced through your private iCloud database so it is available on your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account. It is stored under Apple's iCloud terms and privacy policy and counts towards your iCloud storage. We have no access to your iCloud data.

If iCloud is turned off, the information stays only on the device where you entered it.

On-device processing

  • Typed and spoken entries. AI Wallet uses Apple’s on-device Foundation Models (Apple Intelligence) to work out the amount, category, date and other details from what you type or say, and to answer questions about your spending. This processing happens on your iPhone. Your text is not sent to us.
  • Voice entry. When you speak to AI Wallet inside the app, Apple’s speech recognition turns your voice into text. The app requests on-device recognition. Where on-device recognition is not available for your device or language, Apple may process the audio on its servers under Apple’s privacy policy. Audio is not sent to us or stored by the app.
  • Receipts. Text on receipts is recognised on your device using Apple’s Vision framework. Receipt photos are compressed and saved with the related transaction.
  • Apple Watch. Entries made on Apple Watch are saved as text and synced through your iCloud to your iPhone, where they are processed.

Siri, Shortcuts, widgets and notifications

  • Siri and Shortcuts. If you use Siri or Shortcuts with AI Wallet, your request is handled by Apple under Apple’s Siri and privacy terms, then passed to the app on your device.
  • Widgets. Widgets can show amounts such as monthly spending and budget remaining on your Home Screen, Lock Screen or Apple Watch. You choose whether to add them.
  • Notifications. Budget alerts and recurring payment reminders are created on your device. They are not sent through our servers.

Permissions

AI Wallet asks for these permissions only when a feature needs them. You can change them at any time in the Settings app.

PermissionUsed for
MicrophoneLogging transactions by voice
Speech RecognitionTurning your voice into text
CameraScanning receipts
Photos (selected images only)Choosing a receipt photo
NotificationsBudget alerts and recurring payment reminders
Face ID / passcodeOptional app lock. The app only receives a success or failure result; it never receives your biometric data

Network connections

AI Wallet works offline. It connects to the internet only for:

  • iCloud sync, provided by Apple.
  • Currency exchange rates. To convert amounts between currencies, the app periodically requests public exchange rates from the Frankfurter service (api.frankfurter.dev), which publishes European Central Bank reference rates. The request contains only your base currency code (for example “GBP”). Like any web request, the service can see your device’s IP address. No transaction or personal information is sent.
  • Subscriptions, handled by Apple through the App Store.

Subscriptions and payments

AI Wallet offers auto-renewable subscriptions with a free trial. Purchases, renewals, cancellations and refunds are handled entirely by Apple. We never receive your name, email address or payment details. The app checks your subscription status with Apple on your device.

You can manage or cancel your subscription in Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions on your iPhone.

Exports

If you export your data as a CSV file or PDF report, the file is created on your device and shared only where you choose (for example, to Files, Mail or your accountant). We do not receive a copy.

Crash reports

We do not include any third-party analytics or crash reporting tools. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may provide us with anonymous crash reports and usage statistics that do not identify you.

Keeping and deleting your data

  • To delete everything, open AI Wallet › More › Delete all data. This removes your transactions, receipts, budgets, categories and settings from the device and from your iCloud.
  • Deleting the app removes the data from that device, but a copy may remain in your iCloud and on your other devices until you use Delete all data or remove AI Wallet’s data in Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Storage.
  • Because we do not hold any of your data, we cannot view, export or delete it for you.

Children

AI Wallet is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the UK GDPR or EU GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct or delete your personal data. Because AI Wallet does not send your personal data to us, you can exercise these rights directly in the app and through your Apple Account settings. If you have any questions, contact us using the details below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it was last changed. Significant changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
